You know, working in the field of veterinary medicine has great rewards but also significant challenges. After six years of practice as a small animal veterinarian, I struggled with burnout. If you’ve felt overworked, undervalued, and underpaid, I truly understand.

An opportunity to live at the beach was dropped in front of my husband and me. We made the leap to a new state and a new town. I was out of my comfort zone without a job, but I took the time to embrace the beach lifestyle. Enjoying leisurely walks on the beach, beach-combing, taking my dog on long beach runs, and riding my beach cruiser around my new little town changed my mindset. I wanted to enjoy where I lived with my family instead of just wishing I wasn’t at work.

I was inspired to take control of my career and happiness. I became a relief veterinarian and regained my passion for veterinary medicine, while learning how to navigate new clinics and different management styles. Exposure to new clinics and personalities has given me insight in what makes a good clinic run. I encounter different software systems, scheduling, hospital design and client communication tools in varied hospital settings.

With my experiences of nearly 12 years in practice and as a locum veterinarian I aim to help fellow veterinary professionals achieve wellness and happiness in their jobs. I will give you the tools to take back your job from the fires of burnout and give your veterinary teams a burst of energy that leads to productivity.
